Ready to go in the kiln...

Hosta leaf plates. White earthenware with a clear matt glaze, food safe.  I made the first group of plates for a plate show at the Penland Gallery.  They were such fun to make, I have been making a few every year for myself and make them on commission. Each is different, approximately 11 x 10 x 2 inches, $75 plus shipping.

Detail - perfect for salads and deserts...

One of the few ceramic pieces I make that is functional and food safe...

I use mine all the time!

The latest news from Lake Wylie...

While my son Ryan was in Istanbul on business for a week, I thought I might try to help my daughter-in-law Jen with the Lily, Charlie and 2 four legged kids, Oden and Lexi. I don't know how much help I was but I sure had the time of my life!

Jen - thanks for letting me join in the fun, noise, energy, and excitement!

The highlights follow....

A special surprise for Daddy!

Guess who can ride her bike without the training wheels?

Guess who else wanted to show off?  Notice the bare feet...it was in the 30's.....Hope they let me come back to babysit.

Meeting the school bus with Lily on it was a huge deal and such fun!  I loved every single minute of my time in Lake Wylie!

Welcome home Ryan!  love, Mom

The newest member of the family, Lexi!

Back to school this week!

My 5th graders at CCES will be putting the final touches on their "Visual Jazz" collages inspired by Henri Matisse and his technique "drawing with scissors". They are fabulous so far! I will be sure and share a few. Wait until you see their spirals!

Improvisation at its best!
