Metamorphosis of Nature’s Forms

“My life’s work has been centered around observing and interpreting our natural world, and its abundant life forms,
into transcendent sculptural statements as a continuing reminder of the deep interconnectedness — and inherent
strength — of all things.
I consider much of my work a form of self-portraiture that documents and celebrates the phases of healing and
rebirth related to traumatic events. I view life as a spiral that returns us, over time, to important people, ideas, places,
and events. To that end, much of the work has required decades of germination before emerging as something
tangible in the studio.
It is my deepest desire that those who connect with my work can share in the calming, grounded narratives that
reveal themselves to me during the creative process. “Healer be healed” has become a mantra for me as a reminder
of how our eternal stories of struggle, growth, renewal, and hope continue to connect each of us to ourselves, one
another, and our very wise, and wondrously brave, natural world.”
I’m honored and thrilled to announce a special, retrospective exhibition of my life’s most significant work, hosted by ArtFields in Lake City, SC!
Metamorphosis of Nature’s Forms, hosted by ArtFields in Lake City, SC, will feature a diverse body of work, both old and new, as well as an intimate gallery talk, and a special meditation bowl workshop.
For over a decade, ArtFields has turned what was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities into a living art gallery, showcasing the immense talent of Southern artists living and working in our region. The success of their event put Lake City on the map as an arts destination and, with ever-expanding programming, draws visitors throughout the year. Metamorphosis will be on view at TRAX Visual Art Center’s gallery space and sculpture garden.
PinchED Meditation Bowl Workshop w/ Terra Sigillata & Smoke Fired Finish
As a part of this special experience, I will facilitate an intimate, pinching workshop. The workshop will take place over (2) dates spread (1) week apart. All levels are welcome. Space is limited to a maximum of 18 adult participants.
